A year after opening enrollment for the Sustainable Library Certification Program to libraries nationwide, we are celebrating our first outside of New York State certification! Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Maine has earned this historic designation and the SLI could not be prouder to share the amazing work they are doing.

The Sustainable Libraries Initiative is pleased to announce that we have certified our first library system through the Sustainable Library Certification Program. The Mid-Hudson Library System (MHLS), led by Executive Director and SLI Co-Founder, Rebekkah Smith Aldrich, has earned this designation.

Brentwood Public Library in Brentwood, NY is now officially a Certified Sustainable Public Library! They are the thirteenth public library in the United States to become certified and the eighth in Suffolk County, NY.
